It seems like Aurangabad is a bit far from Mumbai but thanks to a fast and convenient overnight train you won’t feel the distance. Leave Mumbai late in the evening and wake up in different surroundings, ready to discover the city and nearby Daulatabad Fort. In the city you will visit Bitu-ka-Maqbara, an elegant structure built by Aurangzeb’s son Azam Shah as a tribute to his mother. You will be surprised by the resemblance of this beautiful monument to India’s iconic Taj Mahal in Agra. Bitu-ka-Maqbara is very often called a twin Taj or Taj of Deccan. This city is perfect for some real Indian style shopping. Ask for Himroo shawls, jewellery with semi-precious stones, Paithani saris, metal artifacts and Mashru and Kimkhab weaves. The same day take a short drive outside the city to admire one of the world's best preserved forts of medieval times in Daulatabad. Overnigh stay in hotel.
