This itinerary will definitely take your thoughts off all these stressful work related duties. It can be a super fun experience for a fresher or a reunion with the big water for some more experienced surfers. Out of the five days of trip taking you to the charming part of East coast of India you will spend three mornings surfing in a small coastal village. Get your flip flops and bermudas and catch the waves like a pro! In addition some sightseeing in two very charming cities is included.

Depending on your budget and preference, either take a flight to Pondicherry or reach it by car. In both cases you are about to connect to India’s French side. Visit Pondicherry which is a unique blend of French and Indian style. That special charm comes from the times of French rule spanning 281 years, when characteristic geometric grid and glamorous touch shaped it. In 1761 the British drove the French out and implemented a simpler and more severe style. Today Pondicherry is what India has inherited from these influences. Enjoy walks through pretty streets of French Quarter with numerous late 18th and early 19th century buildings, Mediterranean style houses, bakeries, restaurants, boutiques and galleries and seaside promenade. Overnight stay in cozy hotel.

Get a proper breakfast because you are about to burn some calories there. In the village, a bit north from Pondicherry you can start your fun with the waves. Over there waves break between a two rock peers built by the government after the tsunami on 2006 in order to protect the coast. Waves break there and those are some great news for surfers. Get yourself on the board and try to catch them! The waves we mean! After spending a proper amount of energy in the water you deserve a decent meal. You will head back to Pondicherry and probably indulge yourself with aromatic, sumptuous local fish curry. After allow yourself to have a real siesta. Rest, take a short walk through lovely, colorful streets and get a full body massage. You are on holidays and you have a full right to absorb pleasure entirely. Overnight in hotel.

Morning similar to yesterday. You will go again to the surfing spot and probably with more confidence than before surf the waves. Or at least try to do that! ? After enjoy a nutritious and delicious local food and take some rest in the hotel in Pondicherry. In the afternoon, if you still have some energy we would suggest you to go on a short, catamaran fishing excursion. These boats got their name from Tamil language where kattu means tie and maram – wood/ tree and are traditional watercrafts used by local fishermen. Try your luck and hook a catch of the day! Overnight in hotel.

Wake up and get ready for…? Surprisingly your surfing class! That’s the last lesson on this trip so have fun catching waves with other surfers and enjoy the beach style chill out. Whenever you are ready to move on we will take you a bit more to the north to explore a coastal village that is intriguing not only due to it’s hard-to-pronounce name but also because it reminds of an open air museum. This ancient center of sculpture and art with fabulous carvings on giant single rocks is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy a magnificent aura of caves, sculptures, temples and ruins sprouting around each corner. Later in the evening don’t hesitate to have a great seafood dinner in one of numerous beach restaurants. Here again we would suggest you go for a fresh, tangy seafood curry prepared in local style. In the seaside hotel enjoy leisurely evening with tropical breeze.

If you are an early bird, definitely watch the fishermen working hard in the first rays of sun on the beach. Today is the last day of your getaway. Give yourself time to explore more Mamallapuram treasures, do some shopping and discover tastes of local cuisine. In the afternoon head back to Bangalore. We hope you caught the surfing bug and totally rejuvenated will return to reality in order to start to plan another adventure!
