Not far from Mumbai there is an unusual place attracting spiritual experience seekers and tourists. A short getaway there is to experience true religious devotion that a person can see in every temple and in small alleys filled with flowers and various items that people love to give god. At the same time the location on the foot of volcanic mountain gives it the special feature of many hot springs scattered around and visited continuously by people profiting from their healing properties.

Just around 3 hours drive from Mumbai you will reach a special place when it comes to natural resources and spiritual practices. Here in Vajreshwari a phenomena of natural hot springs attracts both pilgrims and tourists. It’s located at the foot of Mandakini Mountain, which was formed out of a volcanic eruption and thanks to that the area is rich in many hot springs. On your first day visit the Akloli Kund springs believed to have curative powers. This is a constantly running water coming directly from the springs so the amount of people dipping in it should not worry you when it comes to sanitary aspects. You should rather be careful with temperature though and take the dip step by step, some of them are very hot! After you should definitely see the Vajreshwari Temple with all its numerous devotees meditating in silence.

Today you will have a chance to try other hot springs at Ganeshpuri, a quaint town filled with temples full of devotees who congregated to meditate in deafening silence. Enjoy the very high spirit ambience in a special place of Nityanand Mandir. Behind the temple the formerly mentioned hot springs attract some visitors to take dip in healing water. If you decide to do the same be careful at the Agni Kund- a point where water becomes so hot that you can boil rice in it! On the same day visiting Shri Gurudev Ashram is an option for those curious of modern spiritual practices. Formerly this was a simple Ashram established by Sage Nityanand that after his death transformed into a plush grand structure guarded by many private security personnel. After an intriguing visit to this place you will return to the maximum city- Mumbai.
