A morning flight will take you to the former capital of Gujarat. Ahmedabad is a bustling, big and a bit dusty city with great history and lots of places to discover. Established by Sultan Ahmed Shah in 1411 AD with massive Bhadra fort the city has grown throughout centuries and became an important trading center with legacy of commerce and manufacture. The way it developed was so impressive that around 1965’s it was seen as an economic role model around the world. In 1970 the capital of Gujarat shifted to Ghandinagar and since then Ahmedabad saw a period of decline. Nevertheless today Ahmedabad is India’s second largest cotton producer and a major economic and industrial sector. Go on a full day city sightseeing tour, through the narrow old streets full of heritage havelis (wooden mansions), impressive mosques such as Jama Masid, Siddi Sayed Mosque, Sarkhej Roja and other sights representing different architectonic and cultural styles and periods. Overnight in hotel.

There is nothing little about Little Rann of Kutch. In fact it’s a huge, harsh area covering almost 5000 sq km in Gujarat. Little Rann of Kutch is located near the Great Rann of Kutch, hence the name, and is a unique biosphere reserve with rich biodiversity and unusual landscapes. It’s also a home to the last wild Indian Ass (creatures that look like a cross between donkey and horse) with a protected area of Wild Ass Sanctuary. Entering the Litle Rann of Kutch is entering a completely open, vast space where as far as the horizon you might see nothing more than flat salty soil. It’s the only one wildlife place in India where you can get out of the safari jeep and get a close up of the nature. This area is not only home to various endemic and endangered species but also an important bird migratory space. This is the day when you shouldn’t forget to bring binoculars and good camera lenses. Ride freely through the rann and admire the bizarre surroundings and spectacular sunset. Overnight in a eco camp just next to the Sanctuary.

Today the discovery of Little Rann continues…this time from a horseback! Follow the experienced local guide and feel the freedom traversing the endless space of LRK. You can choose for your route to be more into wildlife observation and galloping through the terrain or getting a close up of real local life in surrounding villages. After the full day out there enjoy free afternoon and evening in the resort with cozy mud-huts, swimming pool and nature around.

Today we suggest you wake up early and go on a morning camel cart safari this time. The area looks different in early sun rays and that moment of day is great for bird watching. You will also go to a nearby Nal Sarovar Bird Sanctuary which is one of the biggest in India. Unique chance to observe varieties of migratory, spectacular birds such as Rosy Pelicans, Flamingoes, White Storks, Brahminy Ducks and Herons. You will be taken here on a boat and float silently on the surface of a huge lake that attracts all these beautiful creatures. In the late afternoon return to the resort near Litlle Rann of Kutch and enjoy peaceful evening.

Today you can either leisurely enjoy the last day in the India’s “wild west” or still visit nearby village with local women working on intricate folk art pieces, embroidery, weaving and beadwork. This is also a good moment to buy some pretty unique pieces that you won’t find in typical commercial markets and a chance to support local community. In the afternoon you will depart to Ahmedabad Airport to get on a plane back to Mumbai.
